Parts of Weds: Got a call from my mother’s residence. She needs a few new pairs of pants and shirts. Found treasures for her at a local resale shop. Went to the post office and mailed them to her.

Also mailed a little book, that I bought on Tuesday at the used bookstore, to a friend.

Went to the library to get the book “Leave the World Behind”, which I had on hold. There is going to be a version of it on Netflix and I wanted to read the book first.

Got lunch and sat on the deck and read at my favorite bakery cafe.

“Someone over there knows you,” said one of the waitstaff. It was a Burlington friend and her two grown children who were trying the bakery/cafe because I always talk about it. I ran into them again in front of the coffee shop in my building.

Went for a great walk.

Parts of Thurs: Saw a post on FB with footage of the 1965 World’s Fair in NYC. Recognized exhibits I had visited with my family. This was timely as my dad’s death day is in two days.

Wrote another poem about my mother to help me process her dementia and advanced age.

Wore my hair down. It was a good hair day.

Got a call from the maintenance guy in my building while I was out. He was fixing my windows. The glass in the lower section of the window that had fallen down the other day literally smashed as he was holding it. He didn’t get hurt. I once again felt lucky that this all didn’t happen over my head while I was sleeping.

Went for a great walk. Had a conversation with a crow. He’d caw twice, I’d whistle twice. He did 2, 3, & 4. I replied in kind each time. Walked a few steps further and ran into a cat I often see. It looked at me as if I were a traitor. It had witnessed my crow interaction.

Went to the co-op — senior day discounts! As I was shopping I heard, “Is that Cinse!?” I turned around and there was my favorite former server from the teahouse. Found out she‘s working on the other side of town. We exchanged numbers.

Made a yummy dinner — pasta with olive oil, white wine, kalamata olives, giant scallions, lacinato kale, and Parmigiano Reggiano.

Washed two loads of clothes.

Discovered that season 3 of “Lupin” is now on Netflix. At last!
