woke up to no electricity

used my little rechargeable light to take a shower in water heated by a central gas boiler — it must be delivered by a gravity feed pump because the water arrived same as always

went to Haymaker for coffee and breakfast

enjoyed all the baristas’ costumes

read a little on their deck and then shared my table with a lovely local teashop friend and then with her friend and her friend’s adorable little girl

went to visit my friend who works at a local gallery

talked about life and death and all the things

went to a local charity shop and took photos for one of their social media accounts I volunteer to do

when the owner saw my Frida bag she gifted me a pair of Frida socks

found an amazing handprinted, fleece lined, arty coat, and gave in and bought it

took my coat home

changed into cooler clothing

went for a walk on the around-the-town loop

went to the co-op to get a snack of a natural version of m&ms and a banana

ran into one of my favorite former-teahouse-person-now-a-co-op-person in her great costume

at my snack, drank water from home, and read my book while I sat at one of the picnic tables outside

made a veggie burger

played word games

did a load of laundry including sheets and towels — heavenly

texted with my son and daughter-in-law

made a French Press full of my favorite coffee from Little Seed

watching a movie and chilling out as I drink my coffee
