Based on a True Story

I found a movie I wanted to watch on Hulu. I started watching it. I was unaware that I had clicked on another movie instead. I remained unaware even when Katie Holmes and Alan Cumming didn’t show up. I figured the scenario about a woman going to prison was the overture to the main event. I kept expecting the primary action to kick in. It didn’t. It was a while before I realized that what I was watching was a Lifetime movie, not the far more arty movie I had selected. Sometimes life is like this. We walk our way into the wrong production. It takes us a while to realize we’re not where we thought we were. Not where we wanted to be. The players and the background music should probably have given us a clue but we forgot to pay attention. Good thing it’s okay to walk out when you enter the wrong theater. You can do it without adding any extra drama. Snag something sweet at the concession stand on your way out.
