Chasing a Great Sale
The first person said: I have cash. I definitely want it. I can pick it up now. How big is it? This high by this wide (just like it said in the ad). Great! I am on my way. Oh now that I see it, it’s too big. Thanks anyway. The second person said: I really want it. I have cash I can come now. How big is it? I reiterated the dimension that were in the ad. I wait outside. They get here. They love it. They utter many complimentary comments. Then they say unfortunately this won’t work. I live in an old farmhouse, and the stairway is really narrow. There’s no way this will go up. I get another message: I really want the chaise. Great. I have cash. Fantastic. I remind the person that they will need someone to help them move it and a vehicle big enough to put it in. No problem. My husband can help me. Let me find out when he’s available. By the way, do you have cats? No, I don’t have any cats. I don’t have any pets of any kind. And I bought it reupholstered just this past June. Great. When can you come? It may have to be tomorrow. That’s OK. Is it linen? I think so, but I’m not sure. Okay. So when can you come and get it? No response. Could you do me a favor and take a close-up picture of the fabric? Here you go. Thank you. So when can you come? No response. Meanwhile somebody else messages me: I have cash. I can come and get it today. I sent the other person a message: if you feeling iffy about it please let me know because someone else really wants it. I’m not feeling iffy, I just want to make sure that it’s not something like polyester. No worries it’s definitely natural Okay. So when can you come? No response. I let the other person know that somebody wants it but that if they end up not wanting it, I will let them know. They are grateful. The person who asked me if it was linen sends me a message and says: I really wanted linen, I’m gonna pass. Okay, I hope you find just what you’re looking for. I tell the other person: Lucky you, they didn’t want it. Oh great, that’s fantastic. Thank you. When can you come? Let me find out and get back to you, Okay? Sure. We can come Tuesday at 4:30. That works for me. On Monday I get a message: my husband just reminded me we need a chaise with an arm. We’re not gonna take it after all.
