dimming the olfactory bulb

I’ve figured out why I don’t like
the fake odors in some people’s
homes you know the ones that
smell as if they rubbed the walls
with a Porta-Potty urinal cake
memories travel in the fast lane
of smells can zoom us back to
moments we cling to or wish we
could forget about the ability to
smell-o-vision new memories if
our noses are force-fed smells
designed to cover up the bliss
and shit of this world with fake
flowers never blessed with dew
