a strong swimmer my Merchant
Marine father said she’s the one
he would want to rescue him
she swam laps each morning
before attending NYC’s Saint
Patrick’s Cathedral High School
these days she’s not jumping
into the pool she only dangles
a 93 year old toe toward death
