Don’t Stay to be Stung
The co-op roped off an area in the parking lot forcing us to keep our distance. The sign said, “Danger. Angry Wasps being evicted.” It was a smart move. It also got me thinking. Some people are like bees. They’re more often helpful than not, though they still might sting us. If we fear we’ll be stung and start to act irrationally — you know: yelling and waving our arms around, we’ll probably end up stung. But wasps are another story. They’re basically jerks. Maybe even narcissistic as evidenced by their belief that everything is about them. Wherever they are is their territory. They believe you have no right to traverse their lands. They’re quick to anger. I don’t think you need to do anything threatening to get stung. They’ll sting you just to prove they can. Just to lord it over you. It’s often not advisable to fight back because they always seem to have a group of jerk friends who will back up their worldview. Walk away. Create distance. Even if you have to go the long way around.
Trust me.
