first Tuesday of the year list (from rising until 6 PM)

• brewed gunpowder green tea
• drank it with a slice of organic mineola
• ate buckwheat groats with raisins, ground sunflower seeds, coconut manna, maple syrup and cinnamon
• ate the tiny “extra” bowl of vanilla maple pudding from last night
• put some postcards and letters in the building’s outgoing mail slot
• texted my son about his reentry back to work from the holidays
• texted his sweetie about her first day of work at a new job
• put away the folded clothes from yesterday’s laundry
• finished a movie I watched most of last night (“You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger”)
• put on my new red leather vest and black earflap hat (thrifted)
• walked to the post office to mail a framed photo of the two of us to my mom
• walked across the footbridge and up the hill and back around to my building in the mist
• took a few photos
• got my mail
• wrote a poem
• took a photo of a bigger stone and a small pebble for an piece I’m writing about grief
• prepared wholewheat/spelt/white spelt challah dough and set it aside to rise
• found where I had squirreled my dough-rising cloth
• put the empty egg carton aside to save for Easter: I’ll put two candies in each of the egg spaces for my son and his sweetie after I decorate the carton
• ate leftover veggie stew
• starting watching (“Good Luck to You, Leo Grande”) I’m still in holiday movie mode
• paused movie to punch down the dough and put it in loaf pans (for a change)
• put the leftover stew in glass fridge container
• made Hong Kong Milk Tea with sweeten condensed milk
• paused movie to brush loaves with egg wash and put them in the oven
• admired the orange color of the local egg yolk
• made a Barbie-sized omelette with the leftover egg wash
• received a funny vintage recipe from my son’s sweetie (I sent one to her of weiners in Jello for a laugh — you get the idea)
• went back to the movie while I waited for the bread to finish baking
• paused the movie to take the bread out of the oven
• checked on the bread but not done yet — hope it works out — never did it in loaf pans before
• went back to movie, with walnuts
• took bread out of the oven
• went back to the movie with a hot slice with butter and lemon marmalade
• ate another with olive oil and salt and pepper
• ate a third! also with butter and lemon marmalade
• finished watching the movie
