More or Less

I live in a tiny, lovely studio apartment with an incredible kitchen. I have plenty of cupboard space, and there is a stainless steel, French-doored, refrigerator that’s big enough for a mafioso to stash a body in. It’s great. The one thing that has been a bit of a problem are the drain baskets in the kitchen sink. It’s a double sink and the drain baskets fit but they are too deep. This means the only way they can completely connect with the edges of the drain hole is when they are in the closed position. If I want to run water down the sink, the basket has to be at an angle or it will not let the water through, which of course also lets through all the leftover detritus from my meals. When I went to the co-op today to get some tummy friendly food (because I seem to have caught the regular flu) I also bought two inexpensive, simply made, drain baskets for my sink. Hopefully they should cause fewer food particles to make their way down the drain. I think I’m onto something here for the new year. No big resolutions for me — instead as I walk through my days, I will figure out what I want a little bit more of and a little bit less of in my life.
