On a Need to Know Basis

Last night I popped a gummy half before bed in anticipation of an hour plus bus ride in the morning. I figured my back and hips would thank me. I sunk into that lovely state of half dreaming almost immediately. Suddenly I felt a large drop of what I assumed was water fall onto the lower thigh of my right leg. My hand darted out reflexively to brush it away. I wasn’t sure if I had actually felt any wetness. I grabbed my glasses, got up, and turned on a light to see if my mini split was leaking. I couldn’t see any drips anywhere on it. I had no idea if the drop was a one-off, a sign of more drops to come, or a fabrication of my floating mind. I turned out the light, put my glasses back on my bedside table, snuggled myself comfortably back down into bed and decided I didn’t need to know.
