And a rasp to remove
the roughness
that obstructs
consideration.

On second thought,
a flat bastard file
might be needed
to make a gentleman out of you.

A plum bob
would alert me
when you are about
to cross the line,

And some sandpaper
might coax your tongue
to speak only
what is true.

I hope I don’t need a
c-clamp
to hold you by
my side.

I’d rather
auger down
until I reach
your heart.

Or maybe
I’ll drop
an anvil
on your head
instead.
