women used to march
to take back the night
maybe they still do though
currently they may need
to also take back the day
meanwhile maybe gay
humans march to bravely
flaunt the pride and respect
they deservedly have in
themselves because some
of us are too (insert adjective
of choice demonstrating a
lack of good judgment and
an excess of bigotry here)
to recognize our shared
experience as spirits currently
housed in human bodies
