Those of us who others
seek out for the wisdom
they can already feel at
the tips of their fingers
but cannot quite grasp
are a breed apart. In
days of old we lived
alone on cliffs or deep
within the woods or set
apart from the rest of
the village. Appreciated
and at times venerated
when pearls fall from our
lips into waiting hands but
ostracized when seekers
turn away from the truth
of who they are reflected
back at them from our eyes.
