took a bus to Burlington

brought a birthday gift with me (from this past January) to give to a friend and former colleague at lunch today — we hadn’t seen each other for quite some time

met a cool Middlebury student from Finland on the bus

took the bus company survey — they actually care — I adore Tri-Valley

watched all the gorgeous scenery outside my window

started some writing on the bus

had lunch at the Gray Jay with my friend

talked about everything from Murakami to our sons to Japanese TV shows to living in Vermont

traded in three pairs of worn out Darn Tough® socks for new ones at Outdoor Gear Exchange (for free — bless Darn Tough®)

bought a lovely pair of yellow shoes

had a cool phone conversation with my son’s sweetie on the phone

met my son’s godfather who is also an ex of mine to go pick out clothes for him to wear to my son’s wedding this summer (he asked for shopping assistance)

had a blast picking out clothes, especially the ties and the blue socks

convinced him (he was born in a different decade than I was) that his current (and longtime) haircut makes him look like a man who buries body parts in his backyard

told him he has great hair and showed him some suggested styles — he was convinced

had a potty break and snagged a coffee and a cookie for the ride home

watched more gorgeous scenery out the window

got a request to send more hairstyle pics — did so

received a text telling me how excited his stylist was that he was changing his style

realized I still had the birthday gift in my bag

ran into a friend from my building as I was walking home
