some days the world
bounces like an
exuberant puppy
delivering unexpected
joys other days it’s
a sneaky cat dropping
gifts at my feet I may
or may not desire
but lately in-between
these happenings life
is a big bear sitting
on my back pushing
my face into the dirt
it isn’t hurting me but
I cannot breathe easily
