green

I used green
olive oil soap
to scrub away
the viscous
globule kiss of
an errant green
tomato seed
omelet escapee
from my nightshirt

nourishment irritation
stain solvent solution

we are all
so many
things

____

when I rise

some mornings all my fears have

been magically vacuum sucked

away by unknown entities leaving

only unexpected calmness behind

other mornings my fears wear tiny

red shoes and dance tacky nonstop

routines on my chest to music that

makes my ears and my teeth ache

____

shop around

it’s so easy to buy a dress

because you need one or

you want one and this one

fits and doesn’t cost too

much but you leave it in the

closet because if you look

at it too closely you’ll have

to admit to yourself that you

bought that dress so you’d

have a dress not because it

was a good dress for you
