Watching and Noticing

I’m watching the sixth season of a series that just showed up on Netflix. I watched the first five seasons years ago. One of the characters, Mozzie, is played by Willie Garson who I first saw and enjoyed in his role as Stanford Blatch in “Sex and the City”. Garson died in 2021. I always enjoyed his slightly manic and quirky energy, and I am delighted to have this opportunity to watch him again. I noticed that I’m also feeling a little sad as I watch. I’m glad I’m noticing my sadness. Glad I’m honoring him in this small way. I notice a lot in my life. I would like to notice more. I sometimes notice that I have feelings that are obviously coming from something I’m noticing but I have no idea in that moment what it is that I’m noticing. I think it’s enough to simply notice that. My subconscious will hand deliver whatever it is I’ve noticed to my consciousness when the time is right. Maybe I don’t need it right now. Maybe it will never show up because it’s just in there fertilizing other things. I don’t know. I don’t need to know. But I will honor that noticing, just as I am honoring Garson, by taking a moment to notice that I am noticing.
